A quartz cluster specimen from Zomba, Malawi, 10x8x5cm. Densely packed translucent to opaque quartz crystals, white through to light grey with a faint milky or yellowish cast, cover most of the upper surface; each crystal is prismatic with visible facets and varying orientation. The matrix is a rough, porous-looking rock in dark reddish-brown and rusty orange, with darker grey patches and lighter beige or off-white areas along the edges. Weight approximately 500g.
