A cabinet-size smoky quartz and feldspar cluster from Zomba in Malawi. A group of translucent smoky quartz crystals with pointed terminations rises out of a rough, cream-coloured feldspar matrix, the crystals running clear to a light smoky grey-brown. The matrix is heavily textured, made up of small irregular fragments, with a darker earthy brown and tan layer visible along the base. An impressive shelf piece at 19 x 13 x 15.5cm and 3.95kg — roughly a dozen crystals are visible from this angle, the largest several centimetres long.
