Unakite is a distinctive rock composed primarily of green epidote, pink to salmon-coloured feldspar and quartz. These minerals create the characteristic mottled appearance for which Unakite is recognised, with contrasting green and pink tones distributed naturally throughout the stone. When polished into a sphere, the colours and patterns become especially noticeable across the rounded surface.
The large spherical form provides an excellent way to appreciate the natural distribution of the different minerals from multiple angles. Each sphere is naturally unique, with variations in colour intensity, patterning and mineral distribution making every specimen individual.
