Description
Vibrant “Neon” Dioptase Crystal Cluster – 35mm
Locality: Republic of the Congo (DRC)
Dimensions: 35 mm x 24 mm x 18 mm
Specimen Overview
A choice 35mm thumbnail specimen featuring an exceptionally high density of intergrown dioptase crystals. This piece is defined by its uniform, saturated emerald-green color and its complex, high-relief surface texture.
Key Mineralogical Features
-
Crystal Habit: Composed of thousands of tiny, sharp rhombohedral crystals. The “drusy” nature of this piece creates a velvet-like appearance from a distance, which resolves into sharp, geometric terminations upon closer inspection.
-
Luster: Exhibits an intense vitreous luster. Due to the high number of small crystal faces, the specimen produces a shimmering, “stardust” effect when rotated under a light source.
-
Color Saturation: The classic “DRC Green”—a deep, electric teal that remains vivid even in smaller specimens. There is very little matrix visible, giving the piece a nearly pure-green aesthetic.
-
Form: A rugged, “mountainous” topography that provides excellent depth and shadow, making it a very photogenic piece for your website or social media.
